At breakfast this morning I learned that Randy Helus passed away over the weekend. I heard that he had a massive heart attack and he passed quickly. Keep an eye on this post. I will post more information as it comes available. He will be missed.
It's now 11:20 PM and it has taken me all day to process Randy's passing. He's the last one I would have thought that we would lose. He always struck me as the picture of health. It's always harder when we lose one of our friends so suddenly. Since I've been ride coordinator we have had the misfortune to lose several fellow ROMEOs, but the sad fact is that many of them passed after battling some health issues. The only other of our numbers that we lost so suddenly was Harvey Weis. We lost Harvey to a traffic accident. The last time I saw Randy was at last week's ride to Ogden. All looked good and he was his usual bright cheery self. He was usually at the Tuesday morning think tank, always friendly with a good nature and a bright disposition. His passing came as quite a shock to me, and he will be sorely missed.
