Lunch 11 AM July 15, Cutter's Smokehouse, Eudora KS

Post by swanee »

Over a year since we've been to this tasty establishment which may not be on the typical vegan's top 10 eateries but I think most of us ROMEO's like it. Tracey said that while the usual Wednesday special is usually patty melt burgers, she'll probably have a BBQ combo special of some kind just for us. She said their burgers take some time to fix and she knows the ROMEO's are a hungry bunch with a lot of people to get served in a short time--now that's a gal who's on the ball! Those who want a burger they can still get one naturally.

They don't serve anything 'till 1100 but they might get the doors open a little earlier than that. Let's hope for good weather and a good turnout at:

Hello,

The MapQuest map is showing Cutter's in the middle of Lawrence, not in Eudora. This is why I have never liked MapQuest, seems to have a mind of its own.

Also, I know the Romeo's have been to the Santa Fe Depot Diner in Leavenworth. It closed in early May. It is now being remodeled for a potential "upscale" dinning establishment. I say good luck to that happening here in Leavenworth.

Just thought I should let someone know.

Gregg,

I agree MapQuest is not the best map search engine and sometimes does seem to have a mind of its own, but unfortunately have not found another map search engine which allows multiple locations to be placed on a shared map URL. I do the best I can but occasionally one gets by me. I was able to correct this one but If you find other problems or you have map suggestions, please drop me an email.

Thanks,
Gary

It is just south of K10 on 20th Street off the Church St/2200 road exit to Eudora.

Very easy to find, where the BLUE DOT is on map below.

NOTE you may have to click enlarge to make this map very readable

Well, it wasn't the heat it was the WET that kept people away and made it kind of a "gathering of the faithful" though the afternoon turned into a NICE day to ride...in most places around here anyway.

Cutter's BBQ and burgers are still tasty as ever and there were many comments on the good food. Though we did not have an official "Hoser count" today so I can't guarantee my accuracy, we had about 10 bikes but closer to 20 people in all (ROMEO's plus "RODEO's" ) Several of us (including myself) decided to drive a cage when we saw gigantic lightning bolts and very dark clouds in the general direction toward Eudora.

Here's a few pics of the cloudy day and those who could not be kept away from good food even by a "frog strangler"--though I don't think anybody got as wet as going to Seneca :!: Rod drove his Jeep this time so he would not have to pour water out of his boots again 8-)
