Guys - Here's a brand spanking new one for us to try out. It's close for some and a wee bit further for others but what's different about that, same thing happens each week for some.
Small town, small place but unless we have the entire club show up at once we should have enough space.
We've not been here before, either the town or the place so it should be interesting. Menu items include pizza (hand made), sandwiches, salads, baked goods and daily specials. Joyce and I ate here several weeks ago and she loved the place....you be the judge about that! Oh, we had one of their foo foo kind of pizzas and I'll have to admit I even liked it.
They can seat about forty so we should be good.
Gotta go now to watch a socker game......
Here's the place.............The Second Table
111 S. Kansas
Haven, Kansas 67543

As always......ride careful, ride safe and I'll see you in Haven. Richard

Guys - Please check out the note below on Jim Kraft. We all wish him well, I'm sure. May the hand of the Lord be upon him!

On a more somber note, here's another update. Ed Dems, one of our Wichita ROMEO members passed away Sunday. I received word that Ed passed away at 3:15 pm Sunday 4-1-12, and no this is not an April Fools joke. I would have to be one sick puppy to do such a thing. Many of you will remember Ed for having a Scarabeo like mine except Silver in color. A distinguishing feature about his ride was his ever present lap robe on cold days. Ed was a fixture years ago when we had only one group and he traveled around the State for lunches with us like 'Long John' is known to do today. I am unaware if Ed had any living kin but he called Boeing family. He was an electrical engineer and was able to wire my Scarabeo back trunk brake light for me when my Salina dealer didn't have a clue! Ed will be missed!

Guys - If you're like me and roll out of bed in the morning to the sound of rain hitting the window and the crack of lightning
off in the distance, you have this gut feeling that tells you this is not going to be one of yur most fun days. Such was the morning at my house.
Tuesday, I spent most of the day detailing my 1100 V-Star, lubing the clutch cable checking the fluids, pilishing my windshield, buffing out a few scuffed places on my tank, cleaning a years worth of gunk from my cast wheels and generally killing time while enjoying my day. Now I was ready for tomorrow!
As I raised the garage door, reality hit me that I didn't want to do this! And I didn't. I told myself that I have no contract that requires my presence and besides, Delbert can always represent our group since I couldn't very well see anyone else braving this kind of weather.
But, out of courtesy to the little place we were going to, I went downstairs and got on the cumpooter and found their phone number and called to see how things looked down there. It was pouring down was their reply. GOOD, I thought! Now I have another legitimate excuse for not getting my perfectly clean, polished bike out on these wet, mucky roads. You see, it's not me at all, it's my bike. Rust, after all is a killer!
Since I was already up, I geared up, took off in my truck and headed to the SR. Center to play pool with the guys. I can at least play the part that I'm just waiting for a clearing. Yuk, Yuk!
Joyce always gets a free lunch on Wednesdays, so continuing the roll play, I took her to Jalisco's for Mexican. She was satisfied!
Now, it's back home for a nap, but first, I call the place in Haven and wonder of wonders......they had four (4) show up!
If you were one of the four, let us know whether or not you took yer scoot! If so, congratulations are in order!

Hello all you Romeo's. I am going in for open heart surgery in the morning, so I probably won't be making many rides for a while. I will be getting a valve job plus a couple of plugged up lines bypassed. Me, not the Harley. I have been here in the hospital since I passed out at the flying field saturday teaching Boy Scouts how to fly model airplanes. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers guys. Smooth roads and the wind at your back. Jim Kraft
