South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday, February 8, 11:00 AM

Post by roginoz »

We haven’t been to this place before, but Charlie recommended it a while back when I asked about close-in places down south. The menu includes burgers, other sandwiches, enchiladas, and salads. Wednesday’s special is a steak sandwich.

The current range forecast calls for forty-five and cloudy. Maybe not the best riding weather, but it sure beats snow or rain. I’m going to try to keep us fairly close in, but out of Wichita, so long as the weather is tolerable. When winter really hits, I’ll post a snow day lunch in town somewhere.

RD’s County Line is located in Mulvane, on Second Street (which is the same as Rock Road.) This is just before you get to the “main” east/west street through town. It looks like there’s plenty of parking on the east side of the building. They serve lunch from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Mulvane is close enough for a ride if it’s a bit chilly, and close enough to drive if the weather falls apart (or if you don't want to spend twenty minutes getting dressed for a fifteen minute ride...)

Incidentally: I have the new style T-shirts in stock if anyone needs one. I have L through 4XL (short sleeve only,) and plan to bring at least one of each size with me to the lunch rides.

10 of us stayed for lunch at R D's. The food was good. I really liked there Wildcat burger. 1/2 lb beef, Bacon, mushrooms and swiss cheese. MMMMmmmm!!!
It came with chips and a drink. I believe we all left well satisfied.
Ron H came the farthest with 56 miles.
Harley Charly could have pushed his bike here from down the street. He came by car as most of the rest of us did. Ron, Jr., Carry, and Phill all rode. They also came the farthest. TOUGH GUYS!!!
I will scedule the ride for next week. Weather does not sound so good.
Big Bad John
