Fish Fry Lunch at Bob’s Garage: Wednesday, Dec 14, 12:00

Post by roginoz »

Next Wednesday’s weather forecast is currently calling for rain, so Bob Lee volunteered to host a BS session in his garage and Junior volunteered to fry fish for those in attendance. (He must be a pretty decent fisherman.) If the weather turns out to be unusually nice, we can go for a ride afterwards.

If you're able, please post a reply to this thread if you plan on coming, so Junior will know how much fish to fry. (Or how many more to catch before next Wednesday...) If you can't post, show up anyway. We always have a good time at Bob's.

If you’d like, bring a side dish to share. If you’re not culinarily inclined, don’t worry: there always seems to be more food than we can eat at one setting.

You can get to Bob’s place by turning east off of McLean onto 30th, or by turning north off of 31st onto Waco. It’s just south of Watson Park.

TIME:
12:00 PM, Wednesday, December 14

PLACE:
Bob’s Garage
3101 S. Waco – SW Corner of 30th & Waco
(Bob’s garage faces 30th Street South)
Wichita, KS 67217

I'll be the first to RSVP. (One advantage of posting the announcements...)

I'll be there, and I'll bring some cole slaw and a pie of some sort.

Sounds like good eating, I am in. I'll bring a package of cheap cookies from Dollar General.

A good turnout (twenty signed in) and some great food. Thanks to Junior Wege for providing (and cooking) all the fish we could eat, to Bob Lee for his hospitality, and to all the people who brought side dishes. As usual, we had more food than we could eat. I've never been a great fan of catfish, but Junior's was worth a trip back for seconds. (He also made some really good hushpuppies to go with it.) We had one motorcycle show up; Brian checked the weather radar, determined that the rain was heading east, and made the two mile journey to Bob's. We got to see Bob's stable of early Hondas, and the unveiling of his most recent (re)acquisition.
