I'm caving to the hot weather gods for next week so we're going to have breakfast/brunch and meet a little earlier, 9:30 AM in Baldwin City. We haven't been there for a ride in way over a year so it's about time we visited the home of the Klingler Brothers. I visited with April and she said they serve the entire menu all day (they are open from 7AM-2PM) so if you want a burger for breakfast you can have at it and the Wednesday special is:
Breakfast:
2 Scrambled Eggs with Crumbled Bacon, Ham, Onions, & Cheese served with Fruit ($5.99)
You can read the entire menu at this link:
http://www.jos-diner.com/resources/menu.pdf
So let's meet up for brunch at:
Jo's Diner
516 Ames
Baldwin City, KS

And thanks to Gary, the location of all ROMEO rides for next week can be found at:
http://bit.ly/1uLkbOc
And while I'm thinking about it, we need to thank Gary, our Parkville Rider, for faithfully including ZeeMaps directions to our rides each week. It is a job that gets very little recognition but requires time each week to keep up with all the rides on the website and makes it so easy to check out routes and timing to get to each lunch. So thanks Gary for donating your time each week to provide this valuable service.

Re: BREAKFAST 8/3 9:30 AM, Jo's Diner, Baldwin City, KS
It was a nice morning for a ride and it also seemed to be a pretty good idea to go a bit earlier this morning, as it was starting to heat up as it approached noon, especially if you were out in the sun. Hoser count was 36 plus we had couple of late arrivals after that. With cagers and walkers and two-ups we got pretty close to 50 ROMEOS dining at Jo's Diner. I was a little worried that it might be a little crowded in there but they easily accommodated us and the food was excellent and so was the service. The two servers and two cooks handled us easily. It appears that they have a pretty sizable local breakfast crowd as the parking lot was almost full of cars when we started arriving, but we started showing up as cars were leaving and we pretty much filled up the parking lot with motorcycles by 9:30 or so. We also turned over the back dining room a couple of times but no one had to wait..

Everybody seemed to have a good time this morning, but I didn't hear many pie ride plans due to the upcoming steamy afternoon temperatures. But by getting a little earlier start today it turned out to be a great day to be a ROMEO!

Re: BREAKFAST 8/3 9:30 AM, Jo's Diner, Baldwin City, KS
Hey Mick:
Thanks for the posting of the ride and thanks for the pictures. Corwin and I left Chanute at 7:15 and the rain started at 7:35 and lasted until 8:15 when we hit Garnett. Had fog and some lite rain north of Garnett, but it was a downpour for a while, and we had somewhat dried out by the time we hit Baldwin. So, Corwin and I were only partially soaked when we hit Jo's. Thankfully, no one noticed. It was a delight to sit with JohnH and Ben - we had great conversations and lotsa laughs. As for pie, we landed in Garnett at the DQ and slurped some malteds. Hope to see everyone in Garnett on Friday.
