Opie"s has one of the best fried chicken buffets around this part of Kansas. It also will have several variety of pizza as well as several vegies on the buffet. Opie's is located on Main Street two blocks East of business 169 on the North side
of the street. This will be the first time we will have a ride in the sun this year or in my memory which is very short.

Howdy everybody:

While I believe Opie's will fill you up , there is something else I wish to add to the mix. Just one block west and on the opposite side of Main Street from Opie's is Cardinal Drug Store, a retail place that has a real live made-in-America soda fountain just like in the old days. They will soda-jerk you ice cream, ice cream sundaes, malts, shakes, sodas and other delights that you enjoyed some 50 - 60 years ago, and they have also been on Sunflower Journeys. So, all riders who are thirsting for some dessert, head west one block and revisit your long ago past. I chatted with the lady who runs the soda fountain this morning and she was looking forward to a visit from us. Calories anyone
