South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday, January 22, 11:00 AM

Post by roginoz »

We're going to stay south again this week. Junior Wege is recuperating from his recent health problem, but he's not back on his bike yet. Since he can't ride to meet us, a couple of the guys suggested that we head down to Oxford to have lunch with him.

It's been quite a while since we've been to Angie D’s, so we'll head back. Oxford is about forty miles away from Wichita, so it should be close enough for those who want to ride, and not too far for those stuck on four wheels. Right now, the long forecast for Wednesday looks pretty good: a high of fifty, partly cloudy skies with no chance of rain, and southerly winds at twelve miles per hour. Ride or drive, depending on the weather and how you feel Wednesday morning.

Angie D’s is a small place with a small staff, so it takes them a bit of time to serve a group our size. It's a good chance to relax and enjoy the conversation while they work to get us all fed. Early birds might want to bear in mind that they serve breakfast until 11:00.

TIME:
11:00 AM (a bit earlier if you want breakfast,) Wednesday, May 15

PLACE:
Angie D’s
218 W Main
Oxford, KS 67119

Twenty-five of us showed up in Oxford, six on motorcycles. Today's mileage (one-way) totaled 261. It took a little time for all of us to get our orders, but the food was good. Junior was looking well, and we got to see a few others that we've missed lately. Cary brought cake for Ron's birthday; suffice to say that he's well past the age for Social Security eligibility.

Charlie should have photos posted soon.

Happy Birthday to Ron. I grabbed a photo of Junior, he's looking healthy!
And I managed to snap 5 of the 6 bikes, I was late walking out today.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure.
