Tire Source
Tire Source
Today I noted a CR motorcycle tire shop in DeSoto, located in what used to be the Sunshine Cafe where the HOAME group met on Sundays for breakfast. Bucky saw the place a couple of weeks ago as he rode by one day. For those who don't know where that is, its in the strip mall you come out near from K10. There is a liquor store and bar in the same building. Haven't talked to the owner, and don't know what he carries or services available. Will try to check it out one day this week. Will post any info later.
Re: Tire Source
I assume CR means crotchrocket?
Since there are hundreds of listings for "CR" at acronymfinder.com you might want to spell it out for us old farts whose riding careers precede the existence of DC's

Re: Tire Source
The name on the banner in the window is CR Cycle Tires, have no idea what that abbreviates. The store hours are 4:30 pm - 9 pm. Will try to get back that way one late afternoon this week and find out more specifics about the business. If there was a full name by the way that is what I would have posted.
Re: Tire Source
Oh so that's the name of it
CR is a squid acronym for "crotch rocket" (those things do use lots of tires).
Then I guess it could also just be the owner's initials

Found web site::::: crcycletires.com
Re: Tire Source
Thanks Polish. I was mistaken--looks like it caters to the HD/cruiser crowd more than CR's. I didn't see any tire prices.
Maybe $80 for dino juice is reasonable compared to what Harley dealers charge nowadays
I'll keep changing my own.

Re: Tire Source
Orange and black color scheme does make you think Harley doesn't it. But, I still intend to stop by sometime and ask about tires/mounting. The tire doesn't know it's not going on a Harely!
I mount my own too, but it would be nice to have a reasonable alternative close by, although there is always MotoCare in Lawrence.
Re: Tire Source
Yep I'm guessing he'd be more than happy to sell a tire for anything on 2 wheels (or 3 for that matter).
Looks like he's paying overhead on a brick-&-mortar storefront with what amounts to a moonlighting job (check the business hours).
In this "handout nation" we're living in today you gotta admire a guy who's that hardworking--will call him next time I need a tire!
