South Central Lunch: Wed., June 6, 11:00 AM

The weather for next Wednesday looks a little shaky, so let’s keep it within driving distance just in case it’s not good motorcycle weather. We haven’t been to the Stearman Field Restaurant since the first of this year, it’s the opposite direction from where we went last, and everyone seems to like the place. (And, the people there really like to see us.)

The restaurant is located just off the runway at the Benton airport, southwest of town. They’re going to set us up in the enclosed patio at the south end of the dining room. If the weather’s a little cold, they’ll light the fire pit; if it’s warm, they can open the doors for a little breeze.

If the weather is better than expected, I’m sure General Bob can be prevailed upon to lead a group on the long way home (provided it involves a stop for ice cream.)

Guys - Before the Southern group commits my group to a joint meeting, please check with me first. If you did and I somehow forgot please accept my appologies.
The North Central group is responding to a personal request from a little place in Haddam. A town with just a tad over 100 folks. Based on their personal invitation to come up to see them it would be irresponsible for me to have split my group up on this particular Wednesday but I have been known to do dumb things. Richard

The dumb thing was my doing. I cut and pasted my text from the previous ride we did jointly, but obviously forgot to alter the subject line. How I failed to notice is beyond me; I actually did read the post after I created it. (We see what we're looking for, apparently.) I'm sorry for the confusion. I didn't check my e-mail yesterday, and didn't get to it today until last.

We had forty-six show up in Benton. It was a pleasant day to eat on the patio and watch the airplanes take off and land. I had a few photos, but somehow managed to delete them from my camera before they got transferred to the computer. If anyone else has some, feel free to post them.
