Tuesday 7/16/24 Dutch Country Cafe, Garnett, KS or The Depot, Leavenworth, KS

Option A this week is the Dutch Country Cafe in Garnett, KS. As far as I can tell this is the first visit by the Kansas City ROMEOs to this restaurant. The Eastern and Southeast Kansas ROMEOs have been there often. I have also been there with other groups and highly recommend it. The food and service are excellent, and they exempt the ROMEOs from a group gratuity fee they charge other groups! They will be expecting us at 10:00. Ride safe and come enjoy!

Option B this week is The Depot in Leavenworth, KS, haven't been there in quite a while. They are expecting us at 10:00. Forecast looks good for a morning ride, as always be safe!

We had a great turnout at the Dutch Country Cafe despite the threat of stormy weather. We counted 19 in attendance for good food and company. Several had tales of heavy rain, strong winds, and lightning on the drive or ride down to Garnett.

I didn't get a count of the bikes, but quite a few rode despite the weather. Some were fortunate to drive between the clouds and missed all the showers and storms! At least the cloud cover kept the temperatures bearable!

As predicted breakfast was great, and the service outstanding. Knowing we were coffee drinkers they also provided a large coffee pot in the room for all to enjoy refills. As we left, many were eyeing the display counter for pies and other treats to take home to enjoy later!

All in all a great day to get out and put some miles on the bikes (or cars), enjoy a good meal, and great company!

Today's ride to The Depot was a "rain out" only 3 ROMEOS braved the weather and none rode. The service and food were great, they did move us out of the private room when we realized we were the group today. Hope the weather cooperates next week.
