Lunch 11 AM, Nov. 20, Big Bertha's Diner, Eskridge, KS

It's not often that you get a forecast of sunny with a high of 61 in late November so you might want to consider wheeling out the ride for lunch. Although this week's destination is an occasional pie stop, we haven't been here for a lunch meeting since June of 2017 and I'm not sure why. The hamburgers are excellent here and the daily special is always good, plus the breakfast offerings are first rate. So why not take advantage of the great weather and meet up for lunch at:

Big Bertha's Diner
113 S. Main
Eskridge, KS 66423
785.449.2818

As you can see, there is plenty of free parking right outside the door so why not take a ride through the beautiful Flint Hills for a little fall sightseeing and a little breakfastbslunch.

RIDE REPORT: Nov. 20, Big Bertha's Diner, Eskridge, KSthu

Although the weather wasn't quite as nice as Tuesday, it was still a nice day to ride, especially for late November. The day started out in the high 40's and warmed up into the high 50's although the wind out of the south certainly got your attention at times with gusts as high as 30 mph. But still...for November, not too bad. In fact, 27 ROMEOS took time to ride to Big Bertha's for breakfastbslunch. We pretty much filled all the spots in the cafe and the food was excellent and the service was fast and efficient. They do a really good job of taking care of a bigger group for such a small cafe.

There are some of the best riding roads in Kansas around Eskridge including both Highways 4 and 99. Most of the visiting took place before we ate today because we were keeping an eye on the weather after lunch as the wind was picking up and clouds were rolling in. Everyone wanted to get out and sample a couple of nice roads before heading home.

Turned out it was a great day to be a ROMEO!

Another romeoriders.com kinda day! A beautiful day in Kansas. 220 sMiles in mostly high 60's weather. Big Bertha's Diner in Eskridge was interesting...

I always try to make a water feature if I can but today I had to settle for a roadside attraction. I always wondered about the stone fence that dotted the countryside. Today I learned a bit more about it.
