LUNCH 11 AM APRIL 3, JAE'S PLACE, WINCHESTER, KS

Post by swanee »

Maybe it's time to go in a little different direction for a change and we haven't been to Jae's in quite awhile. They've taken the rain chances down so hopefully with a little luck we'll get good weather in the 60's that's just right for riding. In the past they've handled ROMEO crowds both large and small amazingly well for a place that's not exactly huge (don't worry about parking--like most little towns in Kansas Winchester's got plenty of that). They serve breakfast any time you want it but the breakfast hounds might want to get there closer to 10 if the weather's good--usually do anyway. The lady I spoke with didn't know what the special would be Wednesday, however I don't know anybody who's ever gotten anything but real good down home cooking at Jae's whatever they order. See ya at:

Today we had a good mix of breakfast and lunch which was probably a good thing. Not a humongous crowd but enough we came fairly close to filling up the main room at Jae's at times--they did at least have some barstools at the front still open. I got there before 10 and there were already several who were finishing up a good breakfast and heading out for a day of riding. I can only estimate we had 25-30 bikes in all, with a couple of 2-ups and drivers at probably 35 or so in attendance. Turned out a great riding day and when I left after noon people were heading out in all directions to get in some more riding. Thanks to all who made it a great ROMEO day!
