NOV./30/18 11:00. SPANKIE'S CHICKEN SHACK BRONSON, KS.

Post by Duffy »

The Chicken Shack has reopened in the same building that they used for the last 40 years. It is now operated by a young guy from south of Bronson. So maybe it will stay open.

The Chicken Shack is located on Clay St which is the main business district St. in Bronson. The cafe is a large 2 story house that is on west side of the street and is painted blue.

BRONSON is located west of Fort Scott on highway 54 about 20 miles.

They specialize in fried chicken but have shrimp, chicken fried steak and a couple of other items on the menu.

A bit of Kansas trivia... the first World Championship of Horseshoe Pitching was in Bronson KS in 1909. I believe the winner received $2.50, which wasn't bad when the average worker earned about .08 per hour!

Thirteen Romeos made the trip to Bronson Ks today with two even riding on 2 or 3 wheels. Food and service were good.
Weather not the best with 43 degrees and 91% humidity makes for a cool ride.
