Another new one was brought to my attention this week by an old classmate of mine while sitting in the barbershop. The big city of Walnut, KS has a local bar/grill which is supposed to have outstanding burgers and sandwiches. Their menu is not huge, but they have everything you would expect in a small establishment like that. So, let's give His & Hers Bar & Grill a try next Friday, the 8th, at 11:00.
Unless you are a local to SE Kansas, you probably haven't a clue where Walnut is. Walnut is approximately 12 mi. West and 6 mi North of Girard. Hopefully the rain is finished by then.
FYI, His & Hers does CASH TRADE ONLY! She said there is an ATM across the street if needed.
I will see you all there at 11:00 or a little before.

Nineteen Romeos arrived at His & Hers Bar & Grill this morning on a cloudy cool but dry morning. Six of the nineteen came in on bikes. Yes, it was dreary looking. Yes, it was cool. Yes, it was windy, but we stayed dry. In my opinion, that makes for a good ride. The day could have been a lot worse.
First time to eat at His & Hers. The building isn't a lot to look at, and I'm sure it would not meet code in multiple ways, but the food and service was second to none. My whole table had the hamburger steak special for $7 and something, which was excellent. In an itty-bitty village like Walnut, the friendly service and quality food are the most important things. I suppose that is true everywhere. They have both!
