JUNE 28TH, BRUNCH 10:00 AM, WALNUT STREET COFFEE & DELI, OSKALOOSA, KS
Posted: Thu Jun 22, 2023 12:19 pm
Ok, there have been some asking when there will be more breakfast & lunch rides. This pick will be catering more to a brunch menu rather than breakfast or lunch. It’s a deli serving pastries and sandwiches (hot or cold). Okay, I get it, it’s not a bonified breakfast place. But I think most of us would agree after experiencing it, that it’s worth visiting at least once. But on that note, I’ll let you to be the judge of that.
This is a relatively new place for the locals to gather over terrific coffee and delicious eats! It has only been open since the beginning of the year. It is owned by Lynwood and Laramie (a Father & Son team). The new coffee shop serves espresso drinks crafted by trained workers in the art of specialty coffees. You can build your own sandwiches anyway you like, with several varieties of breads and other amenities to choose from, along with 14 different kinds of meats. This deli also features pastries from local bakeries. The ambiance here is interesting and quite eye catching. There are two levels of seating with the upper level overlooking the lower lobby area below. Also, there is a cozy fireplace and couches for guests to come and stay awhile.
I hope this description has stirred up some kind of curiosity. It did for me! Until then, “Happy Trails” and I hope to see many of you there!
FYI: For anyone who still wants a ROMEO HAT, there are still 3 hats left. Also, for those of you who are coming to Oskaloosa from the East, don’t forget Hwy 16 is closed cutting across from Tonganoxie going West.
