Charlie's been out roaming the boondocks again (no surprise there) and come across a new place for us. I've been to the Copper Kettle once or twice a long time ago, but we've never been there as a group. After seeing the food photos on their Facebook page, I think I should get back to Eureka. There's a full menu of sandwiches, dinners, a salad bar, and homemade baked goods. (I'm looking forward to the cinnamon rolls...) Breakfast is served until 11:00, for you early birds.

Eureka is about sixty-five miles from Wichita; an hour and fifteen minutes, maybe less on a motorcycle. There are plenty of options for a longer ride home, and all of them will take you through part of the Flint Hills. River Street is the main east/west street in Eureka, also known as Highway 54.

It looks like we may have some good riding weather next Wednesday, so let's enjoy a bit longer than usual ride to lunch. If the weather turns on us, it'll still be a pleasant ride on four wheels.

TIME:

11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 9

PLACE:

Copper Kettle
815 E River St, Eureka, KS 67045

Inclement weather put a damper on attendance today. Thirteen determined ROMEO's showed up today at Copper Kettle in Eureka for what looked like excellent chow all around. Doesn't look like any one rode today, so mileage is moot. Even though Charlie was here (trip rain-out), he graciously let me do the pictures today. Enjoy.
