We haven't been to Durham since last October, so it's time for breakfast at the Main Street Cafe. The cafe is in downtown Durham, on Douglas Street, just west of the highway (K15) a block or so. Douglas is the main north/south street.

Durham is a little over sixty miles from Wichita, an hour or less by motorcycle. If you're looking for the quick route, I-135 north to Newton and then K-15 from just north of Newton to Durham will get you there.

The Main Street Cafe should have enough seating for our group, but the kitchen is small. They'll have a breakfast casserole like the last time we visited. Ordering the special (which is really good) will get you served more quickly. Try not to arrive too much before 8:30, when the locals clear out after breakfast, so we don't put too much strain on the staff and facilities.

TIME:

9:00 AM, Wednesday, August 10

PLACE:

Main Street Cafe
517 S. Douglas
Durham, KS 67438

Turnout was down a bit, but still respectable: twenty-nine people on twenty-eight motorcycles. The motorcycles traveled a total of 1806 miles, one way, to Durham. The breakfast casserole was good, and came with a homemade cinnamon roll. Service was quick, and there was plenty of room for all of us.

Charlie is on his annual pilgrimage to Sturgis, so the photos aren't quite as good this week (me and my point and shoot camera...) Bob was seen with a camera, though, so maybe he'll have some to add.
