Lately we've been west, north, south and east (measured from Topeka) so what the heck let's go south again...but not too far. Yes it's been less than 3 months since we were in this vicinity but that was Green Acres not Lamont Hill. The bustling metropolis of Vassar has more than one great place to eat and this is the other one. This place is on highway 368 (one of those "stubbie" little state highways--it goes north off 268 about 5 miles east of US-75).

Last time we went here was nearly a year ago. That day started off real wet but the enticement of a $4.75 special did manage to get some ROMEO's out especially after the rain slacked up. This time they're predicting 87 and sunny! So whether you want breakfast or lunch it should be a great day for a ride whatever time you arrive.

Nancy didn't know for sure what the special will be for Wednesday but it's still one of the best deals around. They also serve breakfast UNTIL 1100 and you can order off menu of course. Noticed from Mick's write-up that the "special" technically starts at 1130 but I think they let us put orders in a little before then. Regardless, you can't pass this one up. See ya at:

Excellent weather and excellent turnout. Official Hoser count was 56 bikes and over 60 ROMEO's including the passengers with 2 legs and 4. Few if any drove. Nothing like good weather, good food and good prices to get ROMEO's rolling! Thanks to all who showed up and here's a few pics...

I decided to quit making t-shirts because #1. I under priced myself #2. It took a lot of time and I just had another birthday, so am running out of time to do my retirement things #3. Roger came up with the idea to have bright t-shirts for the ROMEO's long before I started coming to the meetings. He has spent a lot of time and his own money to find printers that will do good jobs on the shirts at a price we can afford, he has coordinated the ordering, dispensing and everything else that goes into making the ROMEO's have their t-shirts and I think we need to honor his efforts and buy t-shirts from him. I want to make it perfectly clear that Linda, Roxie, Kai or any one else that has bought shirts from me had nothing to do with my decision to quit. That all said - it was a WONDERFUL day to be a ROMEO today!

Connie,
All of us HUGELY appreciate all your efforts and creativity in coming up with truly unique ROMEO shirts. Not to belittle the many hours Roger has spent ordering ROMEO stuff, but there's nothing like having a one-of-a-kind shirt that was actually done by one of our own.

Those of us lucky to have one will wear them with pride for a long time, and I'm sure all of us understand about your wanting to spend retirement doing retirement things. Hope that includes a lot more of those great days to be a ROMEO in your future!

I came early for breakfast and missed almost everyone. Maybe I'll try again in the future.
