South Central Lunch Ride: Wednesday, December 7, 11:00 AM

It looks like we may get a bit of a reprieve from the nasty weather next Wednesday; a little cold (mostly sunny, high of forty-four degrees,) but no snow or other precipitation (“zero” percent chance according to the Weather Channel...) Bundle up, maybe put on the electric liners, or just jump in the car if you think it’s too cold for motorcycling. This one is close enough (if you're coming from the Wichita area) that the ride on the bike shouldn’t be uncomfortable, and a drive in the car won’t be too boring. (We still have to eat, after all, and our wives probably look forward to getting us out of the house for a bit…)

Patti’s Place is a new destination for us, but it’s been properly vetted by our crack culinary recon team. It’s located in the building that used to be the Red Brick Grill, in Augusta. They have a good selection of sandwiches, burgers, and dinners; they also serve breakfast until 1:30, for those of us who like an omelet or biscuits and gravy for lunch.

TIME:
11:00 PM, Wednesday, December 7

The weatherman misled me again; twenty-six degrees at departure time, and 30 at lunch time. Looks like the Honda taking me to Augusta tomorrow will have four wheels.

Bad weather for riding, but good weather for lunch. We had eighteen in attendance, but nobody rode a motorcycle. (We may be brighter than we sometimes appear...) Unless there's an exemplary day forecast, we'll be staying close to the Wichita area for a while. No need to give up our get-togethers just because Mother Nature isn't cooperating. Stay tuned for announcement of an extra special treat for next Wednesday.
