DECEMBER 11TH, LUNCH ONLY, 10:30 AM, SMOKED CREATIONS BBQ, OTTAWA, KS

First of all, I want to start by thanking Tim Flom for his kind and generous offer to cover for me while I was gone. I missed not being with you all to enjoy all the comradery we always have when we meet together. Boy howdy, we lucked out weather wise with warmer temperature Wednesday. I was able to take advantage of that good weather and rode down to Paola so Chuck Sandy could put a new rear tire on my bike.

Ok! I’m thinking we need a change of “MENU” because we haven’t had any BBQ lately. Because Smoked Creations BBQ has a deliciously good menu to choose from, as well as being centrally located geographically for most of us, and as well their being so kind to open at 10:30 am just for us. So, "what-ya-say", let’s do it!!

Now, there are a couple of things we need to REMEMBER before this year ends. So here they are.

1. Our CHRISTMAS PARTY is on Tuesday, December 17th (see the link below).

2. Also, after December 11th, there’ll be no more rides posted for Eastern Kansas until next year. This will let everyone catch their breath before the New Year.

3. Then on New Year’s Day, 2025, is our traditional Polar Bear Ride for those of you who don’t have anything else planned. This will be our first Wednesday ride (what a coincidence)!

I hope to see everyone soon and wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

“Old Man Winter” is fast approaching! Our plan of the day for future riding can be said with one word “CoooooooLD!” I counted 3 bikes and 20 ROMEOS. The 4 wheels won the day, and no one complaining. Not bad for another frigid riding day! Smoked Creations BBQ stole our hearts again with their superb waitresses making us feel right at home along with their . . . Humm! Humm! Good! BBQ vittles!

It was a pleasure seeing everyone who ventured out for the ride today. There were some faces I haven’t seen in a while because of some health issues, and it was good seeing them again. Hey, did everyone notice Don Spangler’s shiny NEW RIDE? It’s the second bike among the 3 bikes shown in today’s photos.

I surely enjoyed today’s gathering along with the fellowship and time of our visiting together . . . so much so that I lost track of time while sitting at the table with Tim, Lee & Verna and didn’t leave to go home until 2pm. It brought my attention to the age-old cliché, “Time flies when you’re having fun.”
